#ReviveKenyanPlaylist

I must admit that Kenya does not top the list of best countries when it comes to music production and entertainment in general but it's quite a big letdown and betrayal to the locals and Kenyan fans who are the biggest consumers of our Kenyan media to witness our Kenyan TVs, Radios and DJs struggle a lot in supporting foreign music and entertainment content harder than they are pushing Kenyan Artists.
It's so sad witnessing Kenyan TV stations not only playing foreign content back to back, but also organising and funding Shows that air with outside Kenya Charts gossips updates & foreign events coverage.
And this is a great shame on the Kenyan media platform management.
Recently a Kenya Music Video was taken to Nigeria and they refused to play it just because the video/audio wasn't done by a Nigerian, but we here are playing their S#it back to back.On top of that, countries like South Africa, and Nigeria have a strict 95% content of local content in their playlist, but its the other way round here in Kenya; No wonder their music has become so popular than ours.
C'mon guys, KENYAN MEDIA PLATFORMS YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS IN PROMOTING KENYAN ENTERTAINMENT CONTENT!!
Why can't we have Kenyan DJs get appreciated & paid High just for playing our local content just as Calvin Harris get paid ksh25m per gig fro playing just EDM, its because we are trying to play like westerners, but we even have not a clue about their music & entertainment culture.
Most people talk about poor Kenyan video qualities and that's their reason for not playing Kenyan music in their TVs,I can force myself to understand that but does a Radio Station need a high-quality video so as to play an audio??
Guys what if we supported our Kenyan artists now, gave them a larger platform for airplay, support and extra push. Then that means they'll get more exposed to the audience hence increasing their income and that will result in a next bigger well funded Music video.
Dear TV/Radio presenters and my fellow DJs, we can either decide to get Kenyan music back to life or kill it completely.
Let Kenyan TV & Radio plus DJs have a greater Kenyan content if not 100% Kenyan Content, Incase we get interested in foreign stuff we will just tune to foreign entertainment media.
Support me I support you.
I wish I could post this in Kiswahili or sheng, Its just that I'm targetting to deliver this message worldwide.
